When I hear music, I hear the words, not the music. Maybe that's my handicap.
But it means I'm a big fan of people like Bob Dylan.
When you're feeling down in matters love, you need look no further than Tangled Up in Blue, and especially the mighty, all powerful, venomous and vicious Idiot Wind.
In good years, you spot the beauty of songs like Romance in Durango.
Poetry.
Posted by Setsunai at July 13, 2005 12:16 AMfor me it was and still is Planet Waves, especially "Dirge"....I listened to that album over and over again in the East Berlin housing project apartment of a woman i was head over heels in love with, circa 1990....needless to say that love was unrequited

-c, I tried to leave a comment over at your place today but it seems you're operating a blogger.com folks only policy and I couldn't remember my blogger.com password. Anyway, I'll leave it here for you:
I'm a big fan of the tanuki and the tales that surround it too. I saw one for the first time a couple of weeks ago, slinking its way across a campsite up in Nikko. It didn't seem too afraid of me - more annoyed that I was disturbing its dinner, I'd say.
Saw a serow (kamoshika) this weekend on Kitadake. Nearly collapsed with fear at first because I thought it was a boar. We both stood looking at each other for a while until we realized neither of us was going to attack the other. Looked like a cross between a deer and a pig.
