The walkway at Oze Numa. Only used in photographs these days.
Some tired souls.
Clear skies make beautiful lakes.
So beautiful it's almost evil.
For Tokyoites, this place is entrancing.
Mount Hiuchi refused me again, for a different reason than last year. Third time lucky next year maybe, and a good excuse to go back to Oze.
Posted by Setsunai at July 3, 2005 10:09 PM | TrackBackSome great photos there, Tom. I especially like the one of the tired walkers. I wonder if those people came to Oze on the night bus? Can't imagine Oze itself being so tiring that you'd get like that. You lucked out with the weather. Did you camp? Though it gets a bit crowded at times, I like the campsite in the middle of the marsh. The little "village" area there has the feeling of village 300 or 400 years ago, doesn't it?

Yep, I'd say they were tired from not sleeping on a bus. (Overnight train is much better by the way.)
I did camp, and it worked out quite well. I love that little "village" at Jujiro. Something really nice about Fukushima people.
Bad weather meant Oze was almost deserted. Weird. But not the right time for climbing Hiuchi either.
