uh, does the caption on the second pic mean to imply you later photoshopped out wires and what-not from the first? :)

but what I really want to know is what the hell camera-keitai is this? The shots are beautiful! I've been needing a new phone so....

More like I climbed up to nearly 1800 metres just so I wouldn't see them! But I did then find NHK pylons at the peak and a gang of hard-hats doing construction work on the pylons. At least they didn't obstruct the view of Fuji with their positioning.

The keitai is the newish AU one with the 3.2 megapixels and autofocus (Casio A5406CA). It has a USB connection from the charger and huge photos can be taken and transferred to PC that way. I had to spend a lot of time convincing myself I "needed" it.

Just out of interest Tom, what kind of stuff do you do in the winter? I take it most of the climbing down your way is obstructed by snow. Do you use snow-shoes? Skis? I bet winter's a great time of year to see the mountains down your way.

oh, i figure it will take me about 5 seconds to convince myself I need it....shit, see, I NEED it! But my wife on the other hand, well that's going to take years.......

I'll go down in altidude and walk lower mountains until the end of December or so, Luke. Also hoping to do some snow walking this winter and maybe some cross-country skiing. Was also considering doing a marathon and using the time away from the mountains to train for it, so we'll see.
